Mitre box for cutting mitred joints - has two workpiece guides arranged at 90 deg to each other

The mitre box is used for cutting wood for frames with mitred joints. It is made in the shape of a 'T' with workpiece guides (1,2) arranged at right angles to each other. The box has two saw guides (8) inclined at 45 deg. to the workpiece guides (1,2). When the components of a frame are to be cut, the first component is placed in the first workpiece guide and cut at 45 deg. using one of the saw guides. The second component is then placed in the second workpiece guide but the same saw guide is used as for the first component. This method ensures that the two components make a perfect 90 deg. joint.
