The spiral compressor comprises at least one displacement chamber (4) extending over more than 360 deg. from an inlet (20) to an outlet (21) between spiral-shaped walls (5,6) projecting axially from housing (8) side walls. To absorb any length differences between the chamber and the member, the eccentricity (E) of the eccentric is variable, e.g. the eccentric is arranged with clearance (flats 22) on the drive shaft possibly with interposed spring.
