The upper (2) of the boot has two flaps (5,6) which cover the instep. The flaps are fastened together by two or three pairs of strips of hooked pile fasteners (7,8). One part of these fasteners (7) is fixed to the outer surface of the inner flap (5) and the other part (8) is fixed to the inner surface of the outer flap (6), opposite the first part. The strips of fasteners on the outer flap are bonded or sewn to the edge of the flap. Both parts of the fastener are reinforced by leather, fabric or plastic material. USE/ADVANTAGE - The fastener is for a boot and is very simple to close or open.
