A dredging apparatus for dredging light mud from bodies of water has at least one clamshell grab (7) which is screened from the surroundings by a housing extending in its line of movement. At the bottom, this housing has a receiving opening (22) provided with a scraping edge (16). The housing is constructed as a shaft (8) through which the clamshell grab (7) can be moved up and down. Arranged at the bottom of the shaft (8) is an underwater scraper bucket (14) with connection to the shaft (8). The shaft cross-section is adapted to the cross-section of a grab (7). IMAGE
