In the case of a pivotable vehicle seat (1) with a collapsible backrest (7) which can be pivoted up into an essentially vertical position, according to the invention an ascent aid (10) is integrated in the lower region of the seat part (6) of the vehicle seat (1). The ascent aid (10) can be used with the seat part (6) pivoted up essentially vertically and for this purpose can preferably be extended upwards and can be locked in the extended ascent position so that a user can easily reach an upper bed (3) of the driver's cab (2).
