For the space-saving keeping of cassettes for sound and/or data carriers in tape and/or disc form of a wide variety of dimensions in a storage system which is as uniform as possible, it is necessary to provide a mechanism which is simple and identical for all sizes. This can be achieved with a box-shaped container in which a directing lug (16) of a height which increases in the direction of the rear wall (11) is respectively arranged between two guide webs (14, 14'; 28, 28') on the side wall opposite a blocking strip (21), and in which there are on the rear wall (11) of the box spring elements (19) which are designed and arranged in such a way that they are respectively effective for the different slide-module systems envisaged.
