The invention relates to a bevel edge-controlled high-pressure injection pump for air-compressing internal combustion engines with fuel injection with a piston for controlling a control bore arranged in the cylinder, with a ground surface provided on the cylindrical wall of the piston in such a way that in virtually any position of the piston the effectively throttling overflow cross-section formed by the ground surface at the level of the free boundary curve of the control bore is smaller than the free hole cross-section of the control bore.
