In a closed-circuit heating system having heating elements which are connected to a flow and a return and serve predominantly for the convection of the room air, and having a regulation of the temperature of the flow, controlled as a function of the outside temperature, from a certain limit value of the temperature of the flow the regulation is carried out not linearly but according to a function of higher order, in order thereby to ensure the maintenance of a sufficiently high lift for the convection action in the region of the heat-exchange surfaces of the heating elements, without the need for an arbitrary intervention in the regulating system to do this.
