The arrangement includes a loudspeaker having a coil (b) to which is attached a membrane (m) whose support face (a) is firmly fixed to an enclosing plate (p). This prevents communication of the internal volume (Vo) with the exterior except, through a central tube (t) connected to a flexible pipe (c). The internal volume may be filled with a plastics foam which adheres to the membrane and is profiled at the frontal face of the plate to present a defined volume. The flexible tube is converted to an exciter tube (e) which has a shallow immersion into a liquid. This liquid rises a few millimetres up the tube by capillary action and allows communication of the membrane pressures in the loudspeaker with the liquid.
