Safety device for installations comprising a sheath extending as far as the core of the reactor and connected to a second stop valve, a flexible cable movable in the sheath and carrying a probe, characterised in that it comprises a body 30 inserted between the second valve 14 and the sheath, the said body comprising a conduit 52 and a hole 35 for the cable to pass through and a bore 33 extended by a frustoconical part 34 ending in a seat 42 for a ball 41, and means 37 for forcing the ball to be applied onto its seat in the case of leakage after the cable has been detached.
