The invention relates to a device making it possible to protect the hulls of wood or polyester pleasure craft for the duration of their wintering afloat. It consists of a sheath made from impermeable plastic lightweight cloth 1 approximately matching the shape of the boat and fixed to the stanchions or footboards by judiciously distributed ends 2. At the upper selvedge an elastic clamping cord 3 and an inflatable sausage 4 allow it to contact against the hull. An opening at the stern controlled by a sliding closure 5 will facilitate its installation. At the lower part a sleeve containing a metal component 6 is provided in order to weight the casing when it is submerged. Metal rings will be located at certain points of the sheath 7 to receive the different-length ends to be used for passing under the hull. Likewise, a rubber appendage 8 is provided to allow connection to a pipe serving for the pumping out of the residual sea water after the sheath has been installed. The device according to the invention may be installed equally well depending on whether the boat is in dry dock or on the water. IMAGE
