BREEDING OF LARVA OF GALLERIA MELLONELLA LINNE USING INFANT AND YOUNG HORMONE-LIKE ACTIVE COMPOUND

摘要

PURPOSE:To enlarge larvae of Galleria mellonella Linne, to raise fishing effects, to prevent change to pupae and to enable use of larvae for a long period of time, by treating larvae of Galleria mellonella Linne usable as a bait with an infant and young hormone-like active compound. CONSTITUTION:An artificial feed containing an infant and young hormone-like compound is fed to larvae of Galleria mellonella Linne or the infant and young hormone-like compound is dissolved in an organic solvent to give a solution or processed into an emulsion by using an emulsifying agent or xylene and the solution or emulsion is directly applied to the larvae. The treated larvae are enlarged, prevented from becoming pupae and usable as a bait for a long period of time.
