PURPOSE:To make it possible to verify the design standard of graphics efficiently, by using the group of rectangles as layers and net attributes and the minimum interval data that are individually design for each layer as inputs, and performing judgment and the like for classification, retrieval of the rectangles, and agreement of the attributes. CONSTITUTION:All the graphics that are formed by an automatic layout system 1 have rectangular forms. Each rectangle includes layers and net information as attribute data. Those data are sent into a system for verifying the design standard of the graphics through a rectangle data input means 2. That is, the graphics are divided into groups for the respective layers with a rectangle classifying means 3. All the sets of the neighboring rectangles are obtained for each group with a neighboring rectangle retrieving means 4. Whether the sets A and B satisfy the Free conditions or not is judged by using a net- attributeagreement judging means 5 and an interval verifying means 6. Said conditions are as follows: A and B are arranged at a distance longer than the minimum interval on a layer L when the A and B are not in the same net and have the same layer L as an attribute.
