PURPOSE:To control an increase in the temperature of grain so as to prevent the grain from deteriorating, by increasing the circulation speed in a grain dryer in order to reduce detention time of the grain in a drying chamber when the moisture content is high or a large amount of high moisture grain is contained. CONSTITUTION:A specified amount of grain is fed into a storage bin 1, and a specified moisture content, at which drying operation is to stop, is set by an operating input setter 31. When a burner 10 is ignited to start the drying operation, a moisture content detector 20 is simultaneously put into operation to measure the moisture content of each grain specified times, and an average value of the measurements is calculated for each time. In case the average moisture content does not reach the specified moisture content, scatter in the measured moisture content of grains is calculated, and the circulation speed of the grain in the dryer is set according to the amount of scatter and the average moisture content calculated. The higher the average moisture content of the grain and the larger the amount of scatter, the higher the circulation speed is set.
