RUST PREVENTION TREATMENT OF CUT END OF PLASTIC-LINED STEEL PIPE

PURPOSE:To keep rust prevention of a cut end portion of a plastic-lined steel pipe for a long period of time by softening and expanding the diameter of a sleeve of a plastic core by giving thermal energy to the core and by also softening and pressing the flange of the core. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 9 of a plastic core 4 applied with a glue is inserted and fit into a cut end portion of a plastic-lined steel pipe 2. Under the pressure of the flange portion 14 of a jig 15, the jig 15 is heated to about 120 deg.C by means of a burner or the like. As the plastic core 4 receives thermal energy from the jig 15, the plastic core 4 is softened, and the sleeve 9 is radially expanded and hermetically bonded to the inner surface of a plastic tube 8. A flange 10 is also hermetically bonded to the cut end surface of the steel pipe 2.
