PURPOSE:To promote the inversion, distribution and formation of plasmas and to enhance the generating efficiency of an X-ray laser by disposing two plasmas generated by irradiating two lasers to a solid at near positions. CONSTITUTION:A solid plate 1 has two surfaces which face at approx. 90 deg. and generates an X-ray radiating plasma by radiating it with a laser 5. In laser condensing means, to irradiate the laser 5 to the two surfaces of the plate 1, the positions where the normal lines of the irradiated surface cross are radiated with the laser 5. Then, when the two lasers 5 are condensed and radiated to the plate 1, the plasmas generated from the two positions are collided, and the plasmas are easily recombined. Accordingly, continuous X-ray beam radiation and high speed electron-ion collision are performed, thereby promoting the inversion, distribution and formation of ions in the plasmas. Thus, the efficiency of generating the X-ray laser is enhanced.
