PURPOSE:To increase the rate of recovery of product gas by successively and repeatedly carrying out adsorption, desorption, cleaning with slightly adsorbable gas (product gas), pressure equalization, recovery under pressure applied with desorbed gas and pressure accumulation with product gas in three or more adsorption vessels. CONSTITUTION:Raw gas is pressurized by a raw gas pump A and sent to a vessel 1, where readily adsorbable gas is adsorbed and removed and product gas is drawn out. The internal pressures of the vessel 1 and a vessel 3 after desorption and cleaning are equalized. The vessel 1 is evacuated by a vacuum pump B to desorb the adsorbed gas and cleaning is carried out by allowing product gas to flow through the vessel 1. After a pressure equalizing stage, pressure is applied to the vessel 1 with desorbed gas to carry out a recovering stage. Product gas is then introduced into the vessel 1 to carry out a pressure accumulating stage.
