OBSERVATION DEVICE FOR HYDROGEN COMBUSTION EXPERIMENT

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject device capable of experiments in a safe and secure manner by providing a combination of a suction port with a plug and a valve, an exhaust port with a valvular cap and an ignition electrode on a transparent soft vinyl pipe. CONSTITUTION:A syringe (piston) is inserted into an exhaust port 8, and a stringe containing a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen is introduced into a suction port 2. Next, the syringe on the exhaust port 8 side is drawn to drain air from transparent soft vinyl pipe 4. This causes the pipe to be dented. At that time, a valve 3 is pressed,which prevents the mixed gas from flowing in, and the depressed pipe indicates a fact that the air has been emptied (figure 2). In this state, a syringe containing the mixed gas is forcefully applied to send the mixed gas into the pipe 4 through the valve 3 (figure 3). After this, each syringe is pulled out and a plug 1 and a cap 10 are set in place. Then a spark is generated between and the electrode using a piezoelectric element resulting in the violent chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen into a high-temperature and high pressure gas. This gas leaks out of the pipe through a valve 7 with some remaining vapor being condensed under observation.
