MENDING METHOD OF BROKEN UPPER THREAD IN MULTIHEAD SEWING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To perform normal sewing in all the sewing machines, by stopping the sewing of broken threads, returning a cloth driving part and carrying out sewing of mending in case where an upper thread is broken in a part of the plural sewing machines during sewing. CONSTITUTION:During sewing by a multi-head sewing machine, even in a case that an upper thread 8 of a sewing machine 16 is broken, the sewing machine does not immediately stop and a sewing action is continued without the upper thread 8, a cloth driving part 9 is returned to the point where the upper thread 8 is broken. Sewing of mending is performed only for the sewing machine 1b of the broken thread 8. When the sewing is advanced to the same point as that of other machines 1a and 1c, sewing by all the machines are continued again. When the cloth driving part 9 is returned, in the other machines 1a and 1c, lower threads 5 are previously cut while leaving a leading part 5a and then the cloth driving part 9 are returned and loosening of the lower threads is prevented and reopening of the sewing is smoothly performed.
