METHOD FOR ACCELERATING VULCANIZATION OF NATURAL RUBBER LATEX WITH RADIATION

PURPOSE:To accelerate the vulcanization of natural rubber latex at a low cost, by adding ethylhexyl acrylate and carbon tetrachloride to a natural rubber latex and irradiating the composition with ionizing radiation. CONSTITUTION:A natural rubber latex is added with 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and carbon tetrachloride and irradiated with ionizing radiation (preferably gamma-ray or electron ray) at a dose of preferably 1-50KGy. The amounts of 2- ethylhexyl acrylate and carbon tetrachloride are preferably 0.5-10 pts.wt. and 0.1-5 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the solid rubber component of the latex, respectively.
