PURPOSE:To attain sophisticated synchronization by sending a part of local oscillation light source at the receiver side to the sender side and injecting the signal to an injection synchronizing incidence section of a transmission light source via a photocoupler. CONSTITUTION:Part of the local oscillation light from a receiver side local oscillation light source 1 is inserted to an optical transmission line 5 via an optical insertion device 3 and propagated to the sender side. The local oscillation light is injected to the injection synchronizing incident section of the transmission laser light source 9 as the injection synchronizing light via the photocoupler 7 and the transmitted light and the local oscillation light are highly synchronized. Thus, no PLL is required and the constitution of the homodyne detection communication system is simplified.
