PURPOSE:To keep off a temperature rise in depth water taken in, by installing an intake pipe for the depth water and a drain pipe set up concentrically at the outside of an upper part of the intake pipe. CONSTITUTION:A depth water intake pipe 6 is slung in the sea from an offshore platform 1 and extended toward the lower part, while its lower end is positioned in depth to take bathy-water. A drain pipe 8 made larger in diameter than the intake pipe 6 is concentrically arranged at the outside of an upper part of this intake pipe 6. Since this intake pipe 6 is made up, in its upper part, into a double pipe structure with the drain pipe 8, the depth water taken flows upward to the inside, and drain water flows downward to the outside.
