INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING CONCENTRATION OF EL2 IN GALLIUM ARSENIDE CRYSTAL

PURPOSE:To easily project irradiation light on desired measuring sections by supporting an optical fiber in such a manner that one end thereof faces a light source and the other end faces the measuring section of a sample and guiding the irradiation light by such fiber. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber 5 is supported by fixing the end part facing the light source 2 and disposing the other end to face the measuring section of the sample 1. Since the optical fiber 5 is resilient, the other end thereof can be easily brought near to the plural measuring sections of the sample 1 by moving said other end as shown by an arrow. The irradiation position of the light can, therefore, by exactly determined. The transmitted light is detected via a convex lens 3 by a detector. The photodetecting surface of the detector 4 is placed at the focus of the lens 3. The light transmitted through all the measuring sections on the sample 1 can be guided to the photodetecting surface of the detector 4 in such a manner. The use of the optical fiber in place of the lens 3 is possible as well as the means for guiding the transmitted light to the photodetector 4.
