PREVENTING METHOD FOR GALLOPING OF TRANSMISSION LINE

PURPOSE:To suppress a long-period galloping with associated adjacent spans of transmission lines by tension-insulating a pair of insulator strings extended in opposite directions, and mounting a galloping damper. CONSTITUTION:A simple tension insulator which has a triangular handing member 6 rockably attached at its top to an iron tower, a pair of insulator strings 7a, 7b extended in opposite directions from both ends of the bottom of the member 6, and penetration type dead-end clamps 8a, 8b attached to the ends is provided. A transmission line 1 is supported at dead-end to the insulator, and a galloping damper 9 is attached to the line 1 between spans. A plurality of dampers 9 are normally attached for every span. Thus, the suspension support is tension-insulated to eliminate the galloping of suspension basic vibration type with associated spans, and the galloping occurring between the diameters can be suppressed by the damper.
