NEW MATERIAL:A triazine derivative shown by formula I (R1 is halogen; R2 and R3 are lower alkyl; R4 is 3-8C alkyl or 3-8C cycloalkyl). EXAMPLE:2-Chloro-4-dimethylamino-6-cyclopentylamino-1,3,5-triazine. USE:A flowering promoter of asparagus having promoting action on flowering in a first growth period of asparagus. Seeds of asparagus are immersed in a proper diluted solution of the promoter for 1-14 days and then the seeds are seeded and grown in soil, etc. under ordinary culture conditions. PREPARATION:As shown by the reaction formula, cyanuric chloride is dissolved in a proper solvent or suspended and reacted with a proper mono-substituted amine in the presence of a base at 0 deg.C-10 deg.C to give a compound shown by formula I.
