CULTURE POND FOR FRY OF SALMON AND TROUT

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled culture pond suitable for fry of both resting stage and feeding stage, by introducing a specific amount of springwater, etc., into a pond, flowing the water from upstream-side to downstream-side and covering a part of the pond bottom with having stones each having a number of hemi spherical protrusions on the upper and lower surfaces. CONSTITUTION:Springwater and river water of specific flow rate are introduced into a pond 1 through a water channel 2 formed at the upstream-side of the pond 1, allowed to flow from the upstream-side to the downstream-side and discharged to a drain channel 3 connected to the downstream-side of the pond 1. In the culture pond of fry of salmon and trout having the above structure, a part of the bottom 1a of the pond is covered with paving stones 8 each having a number of hemispherical protrusions 8b on the upper and the lower surfaces. A through-hole 10 having a diameter to enable the passage of a fry 12 having an umbilical vesicle is bored through the hemispherical protrusion 8b and the base plate 8a. A declining buffer plate 9 directed outward is attached to an end of the upstream-side of the paving stone 8. Fry of salmon and trout of resting stage and feeding stage can be safely cultured by the above culture pond 1.
