JIG FOR INCREASING MACHINING RANGE OF ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE

PURPOSE:To enable machining even when the size of a workpiece is larger than the stroke of a table by providing a fixing arbor on the upper part of a jig body, a sliding guide part on the lower part of the jig body, an electrode clamp part, and a lock mechanism for fixing the electrode clamp part to the jig body. CONSTITUTION:When the size of a workpiece 25 is larger than the stroke S of a table 13, an electrode clamp part 45 is moved along a sliding guide part 41 formed on the lower part of a jig body 31 to, e.g., the position of a distance L from the center of a fixing arbor 33, in accordance with the size of the workpiece 25. And, in this position, the electrode clamp part 45 is fixed to the jig body 31 by means of a lock mechanism 51. In this condition, the fixing arbor 33 formed on the upper part of the jig body 31 is fixed to the spindle 21 of an electric discharge machine and power is applied to a machining electrode 47 which is fixed to the electrode clamp part 45, to carry out electric discharge machining. Thus, the machining of the periphery of the workpiece 25 can be carried out by moving the electrode clamp part 45 along the jig body 31.
