APPARATUS FOR CHARGING RED-HOT COKE IN COKE DRY- QUENCHING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent the scattering of dust in air during the coke charging operation, without necessitating additional driving power, by carrying out the opening and closing of the top of the charging hopper with a dust-prevention cover synchronously with the coke transfer apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The upper hopper 4 is closed with the dust-prevention cover 14, and the bucket 11 conaining red-hot coke 8 is held in the transfer hook 17 and transferred toward the charging port 2. The contact 21 in the food 17 is brought into contact with the bumper 22 to open and shift the dust-prevention cover 14. The lower hopper 5 is set upon the charging post 2, and the bucket gate 11' is opened to charge the red-hot coke 8 in the quenching tower 1. After charging, the bucket gate 11' is closed, and the transfer hood 17 holding the empty bucket 11 is separated from the charging port 2. In the above process, the dust-prevention cover 14 is shifted to the position above the charging post 2 by the restoring force of the counter weight 20 and stopped at the position to close the upper hopper 4. The lower hopper 5 and the oven lid 6 are shifted to close the charging port 2.
