PURPOSE:To facilitate measurement of current of a narrow electric circuit with a smaller size of a detector, by arranging the detector comprising a clamp means, a current detecting means and a range switching means and tester section independently to be connected through a lead. CONSTITUTION:A detector 1 for detecting current is made up of a switching type clamp bar 2, a clamp bar switch gear 3 and a measuring range selector 4. A clamp tester body 6 is made up of an A/D converter, a display device 7 and a measuring power factor converter 8 which further expands a range set by a measuring range selector 4 and a power source switch 9. The detector 1 and the clamp test body 6 are connected to each other through a measuring lead 5. This enables miniaturization of the detector 1 to facilitate measurement of current of a narrow electric circuit. This digital system also allows measurement with excellent reading accuracy.
