PURPOSE:To enable a movable fire grate to be automatically released from lodging of refuse when refuse is lodged in the moving fire grate, by a method wherein, when each cylinder is brought to an inoperative state, by means of a signal from a flow meter in a tank return circuit, operation of each cylinder is corrected to reciprocate in a reverse direction to each other in cooperation with a relief valve in an discharge circuit. CONSTITUTION:When refuse is lodged in a movable fire grate and, for example, a hydraulic cylinder 1 is brought to a state in which it is incapable of reciprocating, fluid is prevented from being pushed out from a rod side chamber 3, and a flow meter 15 provides a deficiency in flow rate signal. An instruction controller 16, received the signal, restores an electromagnetic direction control valve 10 to a neutral position, and opens electromagnetic ON-OFF valves 18 and 24. Fluid in a pressured oil feed circuit 11 flows in a connection circuit 7 through an electromagnetic ON-OFF valve 18 and a check valve 19 in a supply circuit 17, and further flows in rod side chambers 3 and 4 of the two cylinders 1 and 2.
