RUST-, SOUND-OR VIBRATION-PROOF TREATMENT OF METALLIC STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To make a masking operation easy by sticking a masking member which is a thermoplastic foaming body laminated with thermoplastic films via an adhesive layer on a part of a metallic structure not to be processed for rust- sound- or vibration-proof treatment. CONSTITUTION:A masking material 31 is composed of a rectangular box-type body 31A, which is made of a thermoplastic resin and laminated with a thermoplastic film on one face or both faces, and an adhesive layer 31B, which is laminated on the lower face of the body 31A and covered with a release sheet 31C. The masking material 31 is stuck on a part 2 of a metallic structure 1, which is not to be processed for a rust-, sound- or vibration-proof treatment, after peeling the release sheet 31C, a viscoelastic material is applied with a spray and the like and the masking material 31 is finally removed with a hook and a like before or after heat treatment. The masking operation is thus carried out easily.
