PURPOSE:To obtain a composite composition which is inexpensive and light, possesses high impact resistance and is resistant to heat and excellent in moldability, by homogeneously dispersing single fibers of hemp and a woody filler in a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A composition is prepared homogeneously dispersing 15-110pts. wt. single fibers of hemp and about 5-65pts.wt. woody filler in the form of, e.g., particles, powder or flakes in 100pts.wt. thermoplastic resin as a base material. The fiber of hemp is coarse and light, and especially Manila hemp is suitable as a reinforcing material. The length of the hemp fiber used may vary over a wide range of about 0.3-10mm, but it is preferably about 4-7mm. It is possible to add about 10-40pts.wt. inorganic filler such as talc to the composite composition to improve its properties such as bending modulus. It is also possible to add suitable amounts of a suitable plasticizer and/or a suitable lubricant to it to improve its moldability.
