RIVER SURFACE WATER INTAKE WORK BY WATER CONVEYANCE PATH IN RIVER AND SWIRL CYCLONE

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of construction as well as make maintenance and control easier by a method in which a water conveyance path and a projected floor slab are formed, an intake path is formed, many inclined boxes are formed, and flowing water is directed into the inclined boxes to form swirl cyclone by which to separate soil and sand. CONSTITUTION:A bed protection work 2 of concrete is formed along a revetment 1, and a water conveyance path 6 is formed integrally to the work 2. A projected floor slab 7 is formed at the intermediate stage of the work 2, by which prevents the deposition of soil and sand on the path 6 by the narrowing effect on flowing water in the path 6 and also by back flow caused by collision of flowing water. In many inclined steel plates 9 provided on the slope of the slab 7 of the water conveyance, swirl cyclonic action is caused by jet stream in each inclined box, and only clean water is overflowed to the intake path 8. No trouble occurs from the standpoint of river controlling work, no damage to river bed occurs, and the inflow of soil and sand can be greatly prevented.
