In the continuous fabrication of a small diameter metal wire from a molten metal, the metal is cast into an enclosure rotating about its axis of revolution to form a film of metal on the inner wall of this enclosure, this film of metal being then ejected from the enclosure via at least one outlet orifice by centrifugal forces. The jet of metal emerging from this outlet orifice is then rapidly cooled to form a solidified wire pref. by means of a curtain of cooling liq. arranged coaxially to the axis of revolution of the enclosure from which the metal is ejected. The device for applying this method is also claimed.
