A microbicidal/microbistatic synergistic composi­tion for industrial use comprising a specific nitro­bromopropane derivative and 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropion­amide and an industrial method of killing or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms using the same compounds, which are useful for microbicidal/microbistatic treat­ment in various industrial media.
