The grate (1) has rubber coated, transverse chain links, and an inlet funnel (2). A number of hooks (3) are secured to the funnel wall. The chain links are fitteo to the hooks. The size of the links determines the grate size. Each end of the chain links has a shackle with thread locking pins. Four chain modules are coupled at right anqles with a locking plate.
