The method regulates the power balance of an a.c. network that can be fed by at least one electric generator. One generator is coupled to a mechanical energy converter having a variable non-controllable energy source, and another is coupled to a controllable source. The arrangement with at least one generator is connected via a static converter to the network. When the electrical power demanded from the a.c. network is smaller than or equal to the max. power suppliable from one generator, the power in the network is adjusted. The difference is made up by kinetic energy stored in the mechanical o difference is converter, and is not taken from the non-controllable energy source. The static is then adjustably controlled.
