The tanning cabinet contains, in a relatively small volume, an ultra violet ray generator (7). The operation is controlled by a coin operated programmer (8). The amount of money placed in the programmer (8) determines the time the generator (7) is in operation. The cabinet has also an adjustable seat (3) and a curtain (5) to give privacy to the user. The cabinet may also contain a round diffusion system over which music and or instructions are played.
