Process for hot compacting, without prior blending, of an enriched phosphate ore having the following average constitution: P2O5 20-40% by weight CaO 50-55% by weight SiO 1-5% by weight Moisture 1-5% by weight and an average diameter of about 200 microns, which process consists of calcining the said phosphate at a temperature of from 700 to 1000 DEG C and then introducing it into a hopper which feeds the wheels, equipped with cells, of a compacting press, where it undergoes compaction at a temperature of from 700 to 1000 DEG C. According to a preferred embodiment, water and/or an aqueous solution or dispersion containing at least one alkaline earth metal oxide is applied to the surface of the said cells.
