Method is claimed for minimizing or preventing pptn. of Rh from a Rh-phosphite complex occurring during a liq. recycle hydroformylation process for prodn. of aldehyde from an olefinic cpd., CO and H2, catalyzed by a solubilized Rh-phosphite complex, with recovery of the aldehyde prod. by distn. The method comprises distilling the aldehyde prod. from a reaction prod. soln. contg. the aldehyde, the solubilized complex and in addn. an organic polymer contg. amide, ketone, carbamate, urea or carbonate as polar functional groups.
