Process for preparing a food preservative of formula 19SiO2.15CaO.Na2O.Al2O3.9Ca(HCCO)2.6Ca(CH3CH2COO)2.15H 2O (I), characterised by the steps consisting in a first phase of combining propionic acid (CH3CH3COOH), formic acid (HCOOH) and sodium aluminium and calcium silicate (SiO2.CaO.Na2O.Al2O3), in a second phase of incorporating calcium carbonate (CO3-Ca), giving the complex (I) which contains 23.25 % of calcium propionate, 24.37 % of calcium formate and 52.37 % of hydrated sodium-aluminium and calcium silicates with a yield of 100 % and production of carbonic anhydride as sole by-product.
