ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA driver transceiver for a common bus-typetransmission system of a local area network comprises aswitching transistor for receiving a transmission datasignal from a station and outputting a forward data signalto a bus, a diode for stopping data entry from a bus tothe switching transistor, a first data detection circuitfor detecting the presence of the transmission datasignal, a second data detection circuit for detecting thepresence of the forward data signal, a determinationcircuit for detecting the occurrence of a short-circuit ofthe switching transistor or the diode, and a controllerfor controlling the conduction between the switchingtransistor and the bus.
