CASCADED FIBER OPTIC LATTICE FILTERAbstractA fiber optic lattice filter having a transferfunction wherein the poles and zeros are adjustableindependently of each other. The filter comprises acascaded configuration of recursive and non-recursivefiber optic lattice filters. In one preferred embodiment,an all-pass fiber optic filter is formed by cascading all-pole and all-zero lattice filters, and by processing theresulting filtered output signal in a subtractivedetection system. This detection system produces a signalwhich represents the difference between two signal outputsprovided by the all-zero filter section, and which isadjustable in magnitude, thereby providing an overallfiltering function which is capable of handling bothpositive and negative valued input signals.
