ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA combination soil auger and soil care samplingapparatus has a cylindrical body with soil-cutting bladesdisposed at one end thereof and alternative cap and handlecombinations attached at the opposite end for soil auger orsoil core sampling use. In the soil auger mode, the body hasan open cap with a bail and handle for augering into soil.In the core sampling mode, the body had a closed cap andhandle combination and a removeable sleeve insert within thebody adapted to receive and hold a soil sample as theapparatus is rotated in the soil to be sampled. The sleeveinsert is removeable for capping and retention of the soilsample.
