Reversing rolling mill for producing steel rods

The reversing rolling mill (1) consists of at least one roll stand (2; 3) mounted on a stand frame (8; 9), having a pair (4; 5) of rolls which forms at least two adjacent roll passes (6; 7) and having on both sides guides (17, 18; 19, 20) for the rolling stock and straightening mechanisms (16) for the rolling stock. In order to provide a low-cost, space-saving and efficiently working rolling mill, an even number of roll stands (2, 3) with roll pairs (4, 5) offset by 90 DEG relative to one another are arranged in series, each roll stand (2; 3) being guided on the stand frame (8; 9) in such a way as to be displaceable in the axial direction of the rolls and being movable via an actuating drive (12; 13) into a number of rolling positions which corresponds to the number of passes, in each of which positions the rolling centre of one of the passes (6; 7) is in alignment with the constant rolling line (W) determined by the fixed straightening mechanisms (16).
