Emulsifying agent containing a c14 alcohol, process for its preparation and its utilisation for the fabrication of expanded or cellular construction elements based on a hydraulic binder

An emulsifier comprises a C14 fatty alcohol, preferably a mixture of C10-C16 fatty alcohols or better still a mixture of fatty alcohols with a predominantly C12-C14 content. It has been discovered that this type of emulsifier containing a C14 fatty alcohol induces carbonation of the hydraulic binder such as cement, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the finished product. In addition, this emulsifier is a powerful foaming agent, and has a longer shelf life and improved stability to thermal shocks.
