A volatile component (1) is separated from a mixture (2) by evaporation in an evaporator (4) and condensation in a condenser (5), the vapor being carried by a carrier gas (3), and circulated in between the evaporator and the condenser. A stream (1 ') of liquid (11, 1) is circulated, thermal transfer steps performed one after the other, from a point of contact with the mixture (2) via a cooler (62 ) via a point of contact with said carrier gas (3) into the condenser (5) and via a heater (61) until returning to said point of contact with the mixture (2).
