The invention relates to a technical service area in a spinning mill, which consists of a plurality of ring spinning machines with transport chains (1) arranged level with the creel, serving as a reserve creel and supplied with and relieved of roving bobbins (3) and empty tubes in a programmed manner by means of mobile industrial robot technology as a function of the particular operating states, this operation being carried out whilst the chain is revolving. The individual ring spinning machines are each assigned a robot station, into which moves a mobile displaceable industrial robot (6-9) extracting the bobbins from a special pallet (10), in which the bobbins are arranged vertically on spindles (13), the spindles being so designed that the bobbins are available always at the same extraction height (Fig. 2). The pallet is periodically shiftable in the robot station. The state of occupancy of the receiving devices on the transport chain (roving bobbins, empty tubes, empty receiving devices) is communicated to the robot control via a detection system (14). IMAGE
