Process for welding a sheet based on plasticised polyvinyl chloride in which the face thereof involved in the welding has been subjected to a cold plasma treatment giving rise to a crosslinked surface layer, to another shaped object, also based on plasticised polyvinyl chloride, according to which the combination of an energy and of a pressure which is at least sufficient to substantially disintegrate the crosslinked layer in the welding is developed during the welding. The process has characteristics which make it particularly suited for the production of pouches for medical use, the welds of which withstand sterilisation in an autoclave. IMAGE
