The hollow Y-piece for infusion apparatuses has an inlet channel 3 for the infusion solution and an injection channel 5, with injection plug 2, for the injection of medicaments, and a common outlet channel. In the one embodiment, the inlet channel 3 is connected, via a diversion channel 4 extending parallel to the injection channel 5, to the area of the injection channel adjacent to the injection plug. In the other embodiment, a throttle position is provided in the area of the point of entry of the inlet channel 3 into the injection channel 5, and the area of the injection channel adjacent to the injection plug 2 is connected via a diversion channel to the injection channel downstream of the throttle position. In the one embodiment, there is a diversion whereas, in the other embodiment, a partial vacuum is produced in the injection channel upstream of the point of entry of the inlet channel. In both cases, it is ensured that no residual air cushions can form in the area of the injection plug, i.e. in the injection canal, since, upon the initial filling, an appropriate flow is ensured. Dangerous air inclusions are in this way prevented. …IMAGE…
